Andrea Goddard

With over three decades dedicated to education, Andrea Goddard currently serves as the Director of Curriculum at an EdTech company while also holding the position of adjunct professor at Flagler Tallahassee, instructing elementary education majors. Her academic journey began with a degree in Elementary Education from Florida State University, followed by a Master’s in Educational Leadership from the University of West Florida.

Throughout her career, Andrea has primarily focused on elementary mathematics and science. Her teaching experience spans 15 years across three different schools in Tallahassee, FL: Springwood, Canopy Oaks (where she contributed to the school's inaugural launch), and Hawks Rise. Transitioning through various roles, she served as the elementary mathematics specialist for both the FCAT assessment test in FL and the Math Formative Assessment System through CPALMS. Following a family hiatus, Andrea returned to teaching, honing her skills and becoming a national trainer for Thinking Math. This led to her conducting math professional development statewide and eventually securing a position at the district office in Tallahassee, FL, as the first elementary mathematics curriculum developer they hired.

Andrea's teaching philosophy centers on making math engaging and accessible for all students, firmly believing in their capacity to learn given the right opportunities. In her classroom, she fostered a culture of open-mindedness, encouraging students to think critically and solve problems, preparing them for real-world challenges. Her dedication to teaching excellence was recognized when she became a district finalist for the Glenn Howell Award for Distinguished Educators.

As a member of the Teacher Advisory Board (TAB), Andrea values collaborative efforts in advancing student success nationwide. Committed to student-centered learning, she volunteers her time to develop curriculum for Girls to Divas, a local initiative. Additionally, Andrea is a recent inductee of Alpha Delta Kappa, an international honorary organization for women educators.
