As Senior Director, Finance, Daissan leads financial strategic planning, manages financial operations, assesses financial performance, and evaluates possible risks to maintain the organization’s overall financial health and ensure Teaching Lab’s sustainability, profitability, and growth.

Daissan is a financial professional with higher education, nonprofit, and public company audit and accounting experience. During the past five years, she served as a financial consultant, partnering with business owners and executive directors to help guide their strategic financial planning. She managed a portfolio of over 55 clients that including Teaching Lab. She lead a team of six accountants that oversaw financial reporting, payroll, budget, accounts payable, and accounts receivable functions for clients.

Daissan Colbert is licensed as a Certified Public Accountant in Virginia. She also serves on the board of directors for the Georgetown University Patrick Healy Fellowship.

Daissan most enjoys spending time with her family. She listens to podcasts, likes Bruno Mars, and loves to dance.
