She/Her

As Sr. Director, Program, Ellen manages programmatic projects, delivers services, and designs professional learning to successfully improve teaching and learning and advance educational equity for and with our school system partners.

Ellen joined Teaching Lab with approximately 20 years of experience in education. After earning her Master's in Teaching and Education from Lewis and Clark University, she served in various roles, from secondary ELA teacher to department chair to instructional coach. She also sat on advisory boards with superintendents to contribute thought leadership and guide the learning of educators and students across districts. Ellen left her work in districts after 11 years to contribute to the development of an English Language Arts curriculum for 6-12th grade for the College Board. She then managed the development of professional learning content, materials, and facilitation to support the implementation of the curriculum focused on teacher, instructional leader, and school leader audiences.

Ellen then took a role at New Teacher Center as Senior Director, Products & Curriculum. During her time at New Teacher Center, she managed the design and development of professional learning materials and resources. She led the design of professional learning to support the effective implementation of a high-quality, aligned curriculum and partnered with districts and curriculum providers to ensure alignment of support for instructional coaches and leaders within the district.

When not working, you will find Ellen at the baseball or softball field, cheering on her children. She loves spending time with her family and being outdoors.
