Elysha Vanloo

Elysha Vanloo has been in the field of education for 18 years. She has taught pre-kindergarten at Tunbridge Public Charter School and Empowerment Academy in Baltimore City. Lastly, she has also taught kindergarten, first grade and third grade at Dr. Carter G Woodson in Baltimore City. Holding a Masters Degree in education from Johns Hopkins, as well as having obtained her Administrative I certificate from Towson University, she has served many roles.

Elysha has provided a great deal of support to new teachers entering Baltimore City as a facilitator for the Baltimore City Public New Teacher Induction Program. She has also assisted with implementing a variety of literacy initiatives within Baltimore City, Elysha is a firm believer in educational approaches that allow students to participate in authentic learning in which experiences are meaningful and allow students to form their own knowledge.

For the past two years, Elysha has served as a member on the Teacher Advisory Board. Her purpose is to have a voice for all teachers and to encourage professional development that is meaningful and keep more teachers in the field of education.
