Sr. Director, External Affairs

He/Him

Kyle Williams is responsible for the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of Teaching Lab’s philanthropic revenue pipeline — including foundations, corporations, and individuals, with the goal of helping donors realize our shared vision of achieving educational equity.

Prior to joining Teaching Lab in October, 2023, Kyle was the Director of Major Gifts at Kids In Need of Defense, and the Senior Director of Development at the Foster & Adoptive Care Coalition. His experience working in the foster care/family regulation system gave him firsthand experience in the ways schools too often fail to achieve educational equity on behalf of children of color, children with disabilities, children who have experienced foster care, and students whose first language is not English.

Teaching Lab’s mission is also deeply personal, as both Kyle’s parents spent their entire careers in public schools working in Special Education. Kyle holds a BA in Anthropology (focusing on Archaeology) from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, and lives in San Francisco with his wife, who is an immigrants’ rights attorney.
