Martinis Stephens

Martinis Stephens spent 13 years teaching core subjects and art in Shreveport, Louisiana’s public elementary school classrooms. While currently providing reading interventions to private school students, Martinis is also an Instructional Facilitator, coaching new and aspiring teachers seeking their Louisiana teacher certification. Currently in pursuit of her Educational Doctorate, she holds a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership and a Bachelor’s in Elementary Education. 

Martinis believes equity matters. Every child can learn; therefore, they each deserve a rigorous education in a loving, supportive, and engaging environment. A recipient of an Alliance for Education Grant and multiple Teacher-of-the-Year awards,

Martinis has joined the Teacher Advisory Board to ensure that she continues to pour into education, helping to enhance professional development. She shares Teaching Lab’s vision for education: Teachers and students on a lifelong journey of thriving, learning, and living meaningful lives.
