Nicole Nelson

Nicole Nelson has been an educator all her life, but her professional career began as a substitute teacher during her senior year of college. Nicole, a Communications/Marketing major found her true passion in her graduating semester of college.

She graduated with her Bachelor’s and returned to Shreveport, LA to find herself enlisted as a third grade teacher. This position led to enrolling in an alternative certification program and pursuiing a Master’s and Readiing Specialist Certification. She also pursued her certification in Curriculum and Instruction. Throughout her classroom tenure, Nelson taught every grade from Kindergarten through 8th grade, excluding second grade.

Nicole did not stop there, as she served families of Shreveport, LA, she continued to develop personally and professionally by obtaining her certifications in ESL and Leadership.  

In addition to serving as a Reading and Math Interventionist, Content Coach, TAP Master Teacher, and Instructional Coach, Nicole’s career journey has allowed her to serve in various advocacy capacities: Stand for Children Leadership Fellow, LA Core Advocate, LA Teacher Leader Advisor, and five-time grant recipient to chair the North Lousiana Elevating and Celebrating Effective Teachers and Teaching (ECET2) Conference.

She also served educators as representative of Lousiana Association of Educators. Nicole spent summers in Tennesee serving as an Early Literacy Facilitator. Today, you can find Nicole supporting parents in non-traditional educational settings and training novice and experienced educators across the nation.
