The inspiration for Teaching Lab
A growing national movement
Teacher-leaders are already creating this new kind of professional learning across the country with extremely promising results. Our model draws its inspiration from Reno, Nevada’s Core Task Project, which grew from 20 teachers to over 1,000 teachers within just 3 years.
While at Student Achievement Partners, we supported the work of educators in Washington, DC, West Virginia, and Louisiana to create similar models. These locally created communities are now the first Teaching Lab partner sites. They have won grants and been recognized by state and US departments of education. The teacher-leaders in this movement form a network of support for one another by sharing resources, knowledge, and experience.
