Tamala drives Teaching Lab’s continued growth and impact by identifying and developing new clients and business opportunities for Teaching Lab to expand our professional learning services across the country. Tamala develops, coordinates and implements growth strategies designed to increase existing business channels and capture new opportunities while expanding Teaching Lab’s brand presence as a top-tier professional learning partner.
Tamala joined Teaching Lab with 20 years of experience teaching, coaching, and leading. Tamala has spent her entire career dedicated to improving the outcomes for students in the urban setting. She believes whole-heartedly in the adage, “victory lies in the classroom” and has dedicated her career as a mathematics teacher, instructional coach, and leader mentoring teachers and improving the educational outcomes for all students. She believes being strategic about what we teach and how we teach is critical to the success of teachers and students, spending the last few years creating professional learning experiences for teachers and leaders that promote equitable outcomes for every student as well as writing national curriculum training materials for new math teachers.
Tamala graduated from Eastern Michigan University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education and a Masters Degree in the Art of Teaching from Marygrove College. Tamala currently resides in Detroit, Michigan.
