The Impact of Evidence-Based Teacher Professional Learning

Written by Teaching Lab Staff

Recently, Overdeck Family Foundation launched its inaugural Grantmaking & Impact Report, which spotlighted the incredible impact of 10 nonprofit leaders, who in the past year have unlocked innovation, built evidence, and continued growth across the education sector.

One of the nonprofit leaders they featured was Sarah Johnson, CEO of Teaching Lab. In this video, watch Sarah talk about her organization's mission to fundamentally shift the paradigm of teacher professional learning for educational equity, and watch her expand on the following discussion points:

  • “The most important factor to advance student learning is the teacher.”

  • “When we’re talking about fundamentally shifting the paradigm of teacher professional learning, we’re talking about having every teacher in this nation get a high-impact year of professional learning every single year of their careers.”

The video also features Anu Malipatil, Vice President, Education at Overdeck Family Foundation. Please download the full Grantmaking & Impact Report and get to know the other nonprofit leaders and organizations that were also featured like:
