Crystal Carson began her education career in Brooklyn, NY as an NYC Teaching Fellow and Special Education teacher at the high school level. With over eight years of experience in K–12 education, she has taught all core content areas and supported students, staff and families across a range of abilities through inclusive instruction and strategic coaching and leadership. Her work has focused on ensuring rigorous, affirming, and accessible learning environments for students with cognitive, behavioral, and adaptive needs.

Most recently, Crystal served as the Director of Special Education, where she led district-wide efforts to improve student outcomes, compliance, and service delivery for students with disabilities. She holds an M.S.Ed. in Special Education from Long Island University and is currently pursuing her second master’s degree in Educational Administration and Leadership.

Crystal believes deeply that all students can achieve choice-filled lives when nurtured with love, care, and high expectations. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her children, Emile and London, exploring nature, catching up on Netflix, and indulging in gummy bears and smoothies.
