Teaching Lab is a non-partisan, non-profit organization that supports teachers with research-backed professional learning that helps improve outcomes for students. Our goal is to partner with educators in the shared pursuit of educational equity that enable students to be lifelong learners and to lead meaningful lives.

Project Veritas, a widely discredited activist group, released deceptively produced and edited videos of a Teaching Lab employee. The views expressed by the employee in these recordings are not the views of Teaching Lab, and are inaccurate and regrettable. The employee has been placed on administrative leave pending further review.

To set the record straight:

  • Teaching Lab is a non-profit entity. Teaching Lab is organized and operates exclusively for charitable and educational purposes pursuant to 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code and our form 990 returns are publicly available online.

  • Teaching Lab does not sell any products that were developed with grant funding. In fact, we offer much of what we develop for free and have openly licensed much of our content.

  • 81% of Teaching Lab employees are former K-12 teachers.

  • Teaching Lab has not marketed, sold, or distributed curriculum nor authorized anyone to do so on its behalf.

  • Teaching Lab does not directly instruct or educate K-12 students.

  • Teaching Lab does not currently operate in the state of Georgia.

  • Critical race theory is not a part of Teaching Lab's professional learning model.

  • Teaching Lab receives financial support from several private foundations and individual donors, including a one-time donation by MacKenzie Scott.

Teaching Lab cares deeply about the schools, districts, and educators with whom we work. Our sole mission is to provide them with the highest quality professional learning support and services so that they can improve outcomes for students. Educators and leaders alike have testified to the quality of Teaching Lab’s professional learning services.

We’re proud that research has found that the students of educators who have been part of Teaching Lab’s professional learning have higher average scores than their peers on grade-level tasks in ELA and math.

We remain committed to the schools, districts, and educators whom we support. Our focus is—and always will be—on ensuring all students succeed now and in the future.
