About
Who
Teaching Lab’s professional learning programs and content are developed “for teachers, by teachers.” Teachers are our greatest resource — that’s why we rely on members of the Teacher Advisory Board to offer insights and feedback that can deeply support teachers and help solve the most important challenges they face.
Where
Teacher Advisory Board members will engage in content reviews throughout the school year. Members will review professional learning courses and offer feedback to ensure that Teaching Lab’s content is high-quality, practical, and will impact teaching and learning. Content reviews consist of asynchronous activities and synchronous sessions.
Additionally, Teacher Advisory Board Ambassadors will work in partnership with Teaching Lab to host community programming events for all members that consist of asynchronous activities and synchronous sessions over Zoom. Programming will typically be targeted for subject areas or specific grade-bands, or will be focused on topics that are critical for all subject areas, such as educational equity.
What
During the 2023-2024 school year, Teaching Lab will collaborate with Teacher Advisory Board members to ensure products and materials have been reviewed, improved, and have a stamp of teacher approval. In addition, Teacher Advisory Board members will have opportunities to come together as a learning community to build networks, explore research-based best practices, and share strategies and techniques to improve practice.
How
The Teacher Advisory Board is designed to regularly engage educators in Teaching Lab’s user-centered design of professional learning programs and content. For example, members will engage with Teaching Lab staff to identify important curricular or instructional advances.
